Climb the Mountain

This picture was taken by the auto-timer back in June of 1988. I was 18 and ready to take on the world. I don't know the proper name for this mountain, but Nora and others referred to it as "Pointy Mountain" which towers above Dun Quinn.

For me, climbing this mountain again will be a highlight for my trip to come. The view this mountain affords allows one to see a huge chunk of the Dingle Peninsula. It is definitely worth the trek as Phil might attest. Bring your hiking boots.

On the way back down, we'll stop at Kruggers and get ourselves a Pint. ;-)

Um, can you say drinking problem?

Then while searching for a few famous Pubs, I came across this little gem of an article. Three things to point out here... (as of 2006)

A) A report funded by the European Commission and produced by the UK Institute of Alcohol Studies, has said a higher proportion of income in Ireland is spent on alcohol than in any other European Union country.

B) The European Union is the heaviest drinking region of the world, with each adult drinking 11 litres of pure alcohol each year – a level over two-and-a-half times the rest of the world’s average.

C) This high level is in fact a considerable fall from the highest point of over 15 litres in the mid-1970s

Sometimes its the anticipation of the trip that means something.
Now its almost Ireland time!!!!

I'm READY!!!!!!!!!

Just spent abt an hour on GoogleEarth and used the controls to trace our journey up and down the coast...WOW!

Do yourselves a BIG favor and download Google Earth if you haven't already...

If you don't know how to navigate the toolbar, it doesn't take long to learn how to:
1) Go anywhere you like
2) Go at any altitude
3)Go at any angle

I did this before my last SW trip, but this was even better!!...and I remembered a number of highlights I'd forgotton till I re-visited them on virtual Earth reality ( like the Sky Road near Clifden!!) compliments of the Google Guys!!

One week from just abt. now we'll be ready to fly across "The Pond" to have BIG crack!!!

God help them...I only hope they're ready for us!!
